All kids need books.

They need to be read to, and they need access to libraries and books before they step into school for the very first time.

“Of course!” you say. File that one under Duh.

But here’s the problem: this doesn’t always happen. For many reasons, there are a lot of kids in the U.S. (yes, here) who do not have any access to books.

Read my article on Elephant Journal to find out why this is so horrible — not just for the kids, but ultimately for society — and what you can do about it.
